june 2023, i flew over my handlebars, bruised ribs, bleeding from my head (no helmet cuz i was being an idiot) and when a bystander said to call an ambulance, i managed to pause my dry heaving long enough to yell “no”
Jesus Christ. I'm glad everything turned out okay. I had a similar situation like a decade ago going down the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn. My chain slipped off on a brakeless fixie and I was bleeding everywhere. Probably concussed. A guy behind me kitted out in racing gear, instead of stopping to help, yelled, "Get out of the way!" lol
Heavy
In Toronto, with "universal healthcare", we still pay $45 for an ambulance!
Oh my gosh! It's like $1k to $3k minimum in NY.
