No weird drinks over here... BUT I do douse my dinner each night in fancy fish sauce (just fish and salt, no additives) spiked with thinly sliced, very hot red peppers. I do it for the addictive burn and flavor - but I’m pretty sure it also helps me recover quickly from colds.
As a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor and devoted yogi, a lot of what I do to stay well gets dismissed as pseudoscience by some. But you know what? I just turned 50 and feel healthier, stronger, fitter, and more energized than I did in my 20s. That’s all the proof I need.
Weird Drink™️ is blueberries, spinach, protein powder, creatine, ground flax seed (to stay…regular), chia seeds (not entirely sure why), a bit of banana, raw honey (heard it helps with high cholesterol), water, ice, vitamix’d to nursing home consistency
Raw honey’s been recent but already earned a guaranteed spot on the roster. The cholesterol tipoff came from my mom (in medicine, not a doctor), but there’s research that backs her up. (not that she needed it.)
I do collagen, a bacillus coagulans probiotic, magnesium, and Celtic salt, though not at the same time. Water with the salt right when I wake up. Probiotic with first meal, collagen in a smoothie with raw milk, berries, Greek yogurt. Magnesium before bed. Sleep definitely benefits. Whoop shows deeper sleep and longer REM—dreams go crazy. I’ve tried creatine but I feel like it makes me bloated so I stopped. Wondering if anyone else has this issue
Morning weird drink - 35g protein powder, 2 scoops collagen, 5g of milk thistle powder, 8g of creatine, 5g of l-theanine
biggg handful of kale - high nutrient density with low oxalate content (spinach has high oxalate)
heavy pour of chia seeds, 3tbsp coconut yogurt, frozen berry mix, splash of acv, 50ml almond milk. Drink this in about 2 min with wellness formula and then Celsius to the dome by 7am. Also batching all of the powders every Sunday has been the best thing for consistency 🔁🔋
Joe Holder recommended it to a girl on twitter once who was complaining about her skin being bad lol and I haven’t looked back - so I use it for the liver support and skincare. Sometimes I’ll double the dose if I had two too many. And I meant l-glutamine (so many powders to keep track of) which I use for gut health/digestion.

Wait the raw honey sounds good? I also throw chia seeds in the smoothie and have no idea why!
Chia seeds mostly clogging my dishwasher but we carry on
I learned how to take apart and clean my dishwasher because of chia seeds - another benefit of them!
Same! It’s gruesome in there!

Do you notice an appreciable difference in your workouts after drinking said Weird Drink?
I can mostly tell by my energy? There have been times where I skipped it and felt totally gassed earlier than normal.
Makes sense! I want to start incorporating mystery powders/supplements into my own WDs but ideally I’d be able to FEEL it lol
honestly after lifting the beetroot powder makes my veins look sick haha
Sold!!
